Here's the thing about attending motorcycle rallies across the country: you don't need to trailer your bike thousands of miles or worry about racking up crazy mileage on your odometer.
The smartest approach is flying into the nearest airport and renting a bike locally through Twisted Road. You'll save yourself the wear and tear, arrive fresh, and have access to exactly the type of bike you want to ride for that specific event and terrain.
Before we get to the 2026 lineup, we need to remind you to visit the Twisted Road Events Page, to see all of the local events near you. When you're going to ride, make sure that you see what events are nearby!
Here’s what 2026 has lined up.
January/February: Colorado Motorcycle Expo
Dates: January 31-February 1, 2026
Location: Denver, Colorado
The Colorado Motorcycle Expo kicks off the year with custom builds, vendors, and entertainment. You'll find specific showcases like the "Evolution of Thee Vicla" and the "Iron Goddess Female Builder" competition. It's a solid indoor event that gets you thinking about the riding season ahead while temperatures are still cold outside. Denver has plenty of hotel options near the convention center, and you'll want to book early since this draws builders and enthusiasts from across the region.
February: Daytona Bike Week (85th Anniversary)
Dates: February 27-March 8, 2026
Location: Daytona Beach, Florida
Daytona Bike Week is celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2026, which means this one's going to be bigger than usual. The event runs for 10 days and draws around 500,000 riders. Main Street becomes the epicenter, with bikes lining both sides and vendors everywhere you look. The Daytona International Speedway hosts the Daytona 200 race along with flat track and vintage competitions that tie back to the rally's racing roots.
What makes Daytona different from other rallies is the beach access. You can actually ride on designated stretches of packed sand and watch the sunset over the Atlantic from your bike. The Loop is the classic coastal ride, a 45-mile route along A1A that every rider should experience at least once.
For accommodations, Main Street hotels book up fast, sometimes a year in advance. Look at properties slightly inland or in Ormond Beach for better availability. The boardwalk has food and entertainment options, and Daytona Lagoon Water Park offers a break if February afternoons get warm.
Hit the Daytona 200, cruise Main Street at night, ride The Loop coastal route, check out vendor displays at the Ocean Center.
February: Mama Tried Motorcycle Show
Dates: February 21-26, 2026
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Mama Tried focuses on the custom and vintage scene. It's a smaller, more focused event compared to the massive rallies, drawing enthusiasts who appreciate the craftsmanship behind custom builds.
Milwaukee in February is cold, so this is strictly an indoor event. Hotels downtown near the venue work well, and you can explore Milwaukee's brewery scene while you're there.
March: Handbuilt Motorcycle Show
Dates: March 28-30, 2026
Location: Austin, Texas
The Handbuilt Show brings together custom builders and showcases some impressive one-off bikes. Austin's weather in March is usually decent for riding, and the city itself has a strong motorcycle culture.
Book hotels in downtown Austin or just outside for easier access. And do so quickly due to MotoGP being there the same week!
The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show celebrates artistry and craftsmanship over mass production.
April: Arizona Bike Week
Dates: April 8-12, 2026
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
Arizona Bike Week offers perfect spring riding weather in the desert. The event features concerts, bike shows, and demo rides from major manufacturers. Scottsdale has plenty of resort options, though prices can run high during the event. The Apache Trail through Tonto National Forest is the must-ride route while you're in the area.
Highlights include demo rides from major OEMs, concerts, ride the Apache Trail, visit Scottsdale's Old Town.
May: Myrtle Beach Bike Week (Spring Rally)
Dates: May 8-17, 2026
Location: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach runs two rallies each year, and the spring event typically draws over 250,000 riders. The Grand Strand's coastal roads make for scenic riding, and the locals actually welcome the motorcycle crowd, which isn't always the case at every rally location.
Murrells Inlet is the epicenter of activity, with The Beaver Bar and other well-known biker spots.
Hotels along the beachfront fill up months ahead. Look at North Myrtle Beach or Surfside Beach for alternatives. The riding along Highway 17 and the backroads offers great coastal views.
Cruise Ocean Boulevard, hit the vendor areas, ride the coastal routes, check out live music venues.
June: Laconia Motorcycle Week (103rd Anniversary)
Dates: June 13-21, 2026
Location: Laconia, New Hampshire
Laconia is America's oldest motorcycle rally, dating back to 1916. The 103rd edition will draw riders to Weirs Beach and the surrounding Lakes Region. The rally includes hill climbs at Gunstock, the Loudon Classic race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and the Tower Street Hill Climb.
The Peter Makris Memorial Ride is a New Hampshire State Police-escorted loop around Lake Winnipesaukee that kicks things off properly.
The Kancamagus Highway (Route 112) through White Mountain National Forest is one of the most scenic rides in the Northeast. Mount Washington Auto Road is another challenging route that tests your skills with switchbacks and elevation.
Hotels around Weirs Beach and Laconia book early. The Naswa Resort is the official hotel, located right on the beach. Other options include camping at Gunstock or finding accommodations in nearby towns throughout the Lakes Region.
Attend the Loudon Classic race, watch the Gunstock Hill Climb, ride the Kancamagus Highway and Mount Washington Auto Road, join the Peter Makris Memorial Ride.
July: Harley-Davidson Homecoming
Dates: July 9-12, 2026
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Harley's hometown celebration brings together enthusiasts for factory tours, concerts, and rides through Wisconsin. Veterans Park hosts concerts, and the Harley-Davidson Museum is a must-visit. Events spread across Milwaukee rather than concentrating in one area, so you'll see the brewery district, lakefront, and downtown as you move between activities.
The Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive is a 115-mile loop through glacial terrain that makes for excellent riding. Local bars and restaurants get involved with themed specials and extended hours.
Book hotels in downtown Milwaukee or surrounding suburbs. July weather is typically warm and clear for riding.
What to Do? Factory tour, Harley-Davidson Museum, concerts at Veterans Park, Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive.
August: Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (86th Anniversary)
Dates: August 7-16, 2026
Location: Sturgis, South Dakota
Sturgis is the rally most people know, even if they don't ride. The 86th edition will bring around 500,000-750,000 bikers to the Black Hills.
This is the biggest event on the calendar, and accommodations are the toughest to secure. Buffalo Chip Campground is ground zero for concerts and late-night activities. Full Throttle Saloon claims to be the world's largest biker bar. Deadwood offers gambling and Wild West history.
The confirmed concert lineup already includes David Lee Roth (Friday, August 7), Megadeth (Saturday, August 8), Lynyrd Skynyrd (Tuesday, August 11), and Lainey Wilson (Wednesday, August 12) at the Buffalo Chip.
Riding routes include the Needles Highway (narrow tunnels barely fit a touring bike), Spearfish Canyon, and Iron Mountain Road. Custer State Park offers wildlife viewing, including buffalo herds that occasionally block the road.
Book accommodations 6-12 months out. Camping, hotels in Sturgis, Rapid City, Spearfish, and Deadwood all fill up. Some riders stay as far as an hour away and commute in daily. Expect high temperatures in the 90s during the day and lows around 50°F at night, so pack layers.
What to Do: Buffalo Chip concerts, ride Needles Highway and Spearfish Canyon, visit Deadwood, attend bike shows, hit Full Throttle Saloon.
September: Bikes, Blues & BBQ
Dates: September 30-October 3, 2026
Location: Rogers, Arkansas
This rally combines motorcycles with music and BBQ in Northwest Arkansas. The Ozark Mountains provide excellent riding terrain with twisty roads and scenic overlooks. The event draws a solid crowd but maintains a more laid-back atmosphere compared to the mega-rallies. Rogers has hotel options, and nearby Fayetteville and Bentonville offer alternatives.
What to Do: Sample BBQ vendors, live blues music, ride Ozark mountain roads.
September/October: Myrtle Beach Bike Week (Fall Rally)
Dates: September 25-October 4, 2026
Location: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
The fall rally in Myrtle Beach follows the same format as the spring event but with cooler weather. Ocean Boulevard and the Grand Strand coastal routes remain the main draws. Fall colors start appearing in the area, and hotel rates are sometimes slightly lower than the spring rally.
October: Biketoberfest
Dates: October 15-18, 2026
Location: Daytona Beach, Florida
Biketoberfest is Daytona's fall event, smaller than Bike Week but still substantial. Main Street and the beach areas host vendors and activities. October weather in Florida is ideal for riding, with lower humidity and comfortable temperatures. Many of the same hotels from Bike Week apply, but availability is generally better.
November: Lone Star Rally
Dates: November 5-8, 2026
Location: Galveston, Texas
The Lone Star Rally brings motorcycles to the Texas Gulf Coast. Galveston's island setting offers coastal riding, and the event features live music, bike shows, and military tributes. November weather in Texas is usually mild. Galveston has beachfront hotels and historic district accommodations. The island itself is compact and easy to navigate.
What to Do: Ride the Seawall, check out bike shows, live music venues, explore historic Galveston.
How to Plan Your Motorcycle Trips
Rally accommodations require advance booking. For the major events like Sturgis, Daytona, and Laconia, book 3-6 months ahead minimum. Smaller rallies offer more flexibility with 1-2 months advance notice.
When you rent a bike through Twisted Road for these events, you'll find motorcycles listed by local owners near each rally location. This means you can choose the exact type of bike that suits the terrain and your riding style. Want a touring bike for Sturgis' long-distance routes? Need a cruiser for Myrtle Beach? You'll find both.
The rental approach also means you can attend multiple rallies throughout the year without worrying about putting 10,000+ miles on your own bike. Fly in, rent locally, ride hard, and fly home.
Check weather forecasts before each event and pack accordingly. Sturgis needs layers for temperature swings. Daytona in February can be warm but pack a jacket for evening rides. New Hampshire in June is typically perfect, but White Mountain weather changes quickly.
Most rallies charge no admission to explore main areas, but specific events within each rally (races, concerts, special shows) may require tickets. Plan which ticketed events matter to you and buy in advance when possible.
The 2026 calendar has something for every type of rider, whether you prefer massive gatherings like Sturgis or more focused events like the Handbuilt Show. Pick your events, book your flights and bikes early, and start planning routes.
These rallies are where the motorcycle community comes together, and 2026 is setting up to be one of the better years on record.
