Matt O. of Columbus, Ohio has ridden a variety of routes from coast to coast with both friends and family. Speaking of variety, Matt takes full advantage of having over 3,000 bikes available to rent on Twisted Road. 

Tell us about your riding experience. How long have you been riding, and how many bikes have you owned? How did you first become interested in riding?

I currently have 3 bikes of my own and take care of my dad's '79 P200 as well. Like many, I rode when I was young then came back to it more recently. My parents moved to the mountains of Western Panama about 6 years ago, and I went down and spent six weeks riding the mountains with my dad. After I returned from that trip, I picked up a V-Strom 650.

Have you taken any long moto trips? Tell us about them - where did you go, where did you stay, who did you ride with?

I've ridden up to Niagara Falls, then across to the Maine coast. I've also ridden to visit friends and family around Louisiana, and down the Blue Ridge to visit family in VA and NC. I recently took a quick trip out to Kansas City and back for a seminar. My fiancée and I flew to Ft. Lauderdale and picked up a member's K1600 for a 3-day Key West motorcycle trip.

Tell us some more about you - where do you live? What kind of work do you do?

We live in Columbus, Ohio area and I work in insurance. I do travel a bit for work which cuts into riding time.

What are your hobbies - what do you enjoy doing when you're not riding?

I enjoy working out at the CrossFit gym, mixology with my ~100 bottle collection, and a little salsa dancing.

Tell us about your experiences with Twisted Road - as either an owner, as a rider, or both. What do you enjoy most about being part of our community?

I enjoy meeting other riders and trying out different bikes to help me choose my next purchase.

What are your favorite rides near your hometown?

Here in Ohio, the curves are in the Southeast portion of the state, notably route 555 (The Triple Nickel), and I like an evening cruise through the city as well.

Last question - where do you hope to ride one day?

I will likely ride out to Phoenix soon and look forward to riding the remaining states and riding internationally, as well.
